I had a pleasant experience at the Grange Lancaster Hotel, thanks to its central location and charm. However, the lack of in-room toilets and smaller breakfast options did detract from my stay a bit.

Rooms
6.0
I found the rooms to be surprisingly spacious and clean, though I was disappointed to discover there was no en-suite toilet. The vintage charm of the room really added to the experience (especially the view of the calm, green garden area).
Service
6.0
The staff were quite friendly and helpful, accommodating my requests and bringing my luggage up without any hassle. However, they didn't have all the answers I was looking for, like where to get afternoon tea.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a fantastic spot, just a stone's throw from the British Museum and the Tube. However, I did find it a bit noisy early in the morning with staff moving around.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was decent but on the ordinary side; I would have preferred dishes cooked to order. Still, there was enough variety to satisfy my morning cravings.
Facilities
6.0
Basic amenities were provided, with room service and reliable WiFi (which helped me stream Netflix during my stay). The character of the older building gave it a unique vibe.

I just finished a two-night stay at Grange Lancaster Hotel, and while the location was fantastic, there were some letdowns. The breakfast was unexpectedly pricey, and I encountered noise disturbances during my stay, which affected my comfort. Overall, I think I’d consider other options for future trips. 😕

Rooms
6.0
My room was surprisingly spacious with a king-size bed and a large bathroom, which was a pleasant surprise for a London hotel.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, but I had issues with a missing towel that were not addressed adequately.
Location
8.0
The hotel’s location is excellent, within walking distance to major attractions and a nearby tube station, making it very convenient.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast choices were limited in value – it was pricey with £17.50 for a hot breakfast, which felt excessive.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had basic amenities like free WiFi and a kettle, but I encountered issues with shared bathrooms that weren't kept clean.

5.2/10

My stay at Grange Lancaster Hotel had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, being quiet yet centrally located for easy access to major attractions. However, the room itself felt dated and in need of maintenance, which detracted from my overall comfort. It's an older building with charm, but it desperately needs refurbishment and attention to detail.

Rooms
5.0
The room had high ceilings and charming vintage details, but it was in dire need of refurbishment. I appreciated the spaciousness, but it didn't come equipped with a private toilet or fridge, which was disappointing.
Service
5.0
While the staff tried to be friendly and accommodating, the overall service felt basic, lacking the attentiveness you'd expect for the price. They were polite but it seemed that management didn’t prioritize guest concerns.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is a major plus, situated on a quiet street yet just a short walk from Russell Square Tube station. It made exploring London so much easier, being walkable to so many attractions.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent, cooked to order, but I found it to be a bit pricey for what it offered. While there were a few dining options nearby, they didn't stand out as particularly exciting.
Facilities
5.0
Basic amenities were available, though I found the shared toilets less than ideal for the hotel's price range. The absence of air conditioning also meant relying on open windows for ventilation, which was not always pleasant.

I had a satisfying stay at Grange Lancaster Hotel. The excellent location made exploring central London a breeze, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. However, I found the décor a bit tired and in need of a refresh, which detracted slightly from the overall experience. Overall, it was a decent stay for the price! 😊

Rooms

My room was small but clean and comfortable. I appreciated the en-suite bathroom, despite the occasional rattle from the windows at night. It served my needs well during my theatre trip.
Service
8.0
The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. I had no issues during check-in, and they were accommodating when I arrived earlier than expected. This positive attitude contributed to a pleasant experience.
Location
8.0
The hotel's central location was ideal for my activities. It was a short walk to Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, making it very convenient for visiting local attractions.
Dining
7.0
I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but I noted that the nearby dining options were plentiful, offering a variety of choices to suit different tastes.
Facilities

The basic amenities, like tea/coffee facilities, were appreciated. However, I did find certain aspects, like the room needing a bit of a makeover, could use attention.

I stayed at Grange Lancaster Hotel for one night, which was a bit of a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, being just a short walk from Russell Square and close to various attractions. My room was surprisingly spacious for London, but I faced a few issues like the shared toilet situation and the lack of a lift, which made carrying my bags a bit challenging. Overall, while I appreciated the charming yet vintage decor, my experience was hindered by uncomfortable bedding and a lack of proper toiletries.

Rooms
6.0
The room was surprisingly spacious and had a lovely vintage charm. However, the shared toilet was inconvenient, and the bed was a little uncomfortable.
Service
5.0
Most of the staff were polite, but when I had issues with my towel, the service wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. I felt ignored when I sought resolutions to my concerns.
Location
8.0
The location was a highlight, being close to public transport and various attractions. It was a peaceful area, allowing for a restful stay despite being in central London.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were expensive, and I found better dining choices nearby. The dining area was quiet, but lacked variety for a full meal.
Facilities
5.0
Basic facilities were available, like free WiFi and tea/coffee in the room. Yet, there was no air conditioning, which impacted comfort during warmer periods.
